The Maryland State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) Centreville Shop is seeking bids from licensed master electricians to perform electrical repair services on state highway facilities in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. The work primarily involves 120 and 240V single-phase electrical systems within or around buildings but explicitly excludes work inside generators or beneath highways. Contractors are expected to charge labor costs based on time spent working on site, with vendors required to have a stocked service van to avoid non-billable travel time for parts procurement. Parts are to be billed at manufacturer’s suggested retail price or with a reasonable markup, which must be clearly stated in the pricing form. SHA offers the option to purchase required parts directly for contractors to install, allowing flexibility in procurement. Payments will only be made for completed work with no deposits or pre-payments allowed, reflecting the institutional and governmental nature of the customer. Invoices must be submitted within 30 days after job completion and must detail hours worked, labor rates, and itemized costs rather than lump-sum totals. Payment terms default to net 15 days by mailed check, with free ACH payment options available; the agency prefers credit card payments for invoices under $5,000 when no additional processing fees are charged, to expedite payment. The solicitation is open until early January 2026, and inquiries can be directed to the primary contact listed. The contract is aligned with NAICS code 238210, specifically targeting qualified electricians for state highway building maintenance and repair services.
