The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Procurement, Acquisition, and Logistics, through its Strategic Acquisition Center, is hosting an Industry Day on November 29, 2017, for the upcoming Medical Surgical Prime Vendor (MSPV) 2.0 acquisition. This event aims to engage U.S. businesses capable of managing the end-to-end supply chain for medical surgical products, ensuring that VA medical facilities receive necessary supplies and equipment efficiently. The MSPV 2.0 effort seeks improvements over the current procurement process, which relies on local purchase cards, multiple contracts, and manual systems with limited IT support. Interested vendors may be tasked with developing tailored formularies for each medical facility, as well as providing strategic sourcing, inventory and distribution management, quality assurance, lifecycle management, and warranty services. The Industry Day will offer attending companies the opportunity to network and consult with VA program officials and subject matter experts about doing business with the VA under this acquisition. Registration is mandatory, with attendance limited to two representatives per company on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be completed by November 24, 2017. The event will take place at the Waterford Reception Center in Springfield, Virginia, starting with check-in at 8:00 AM and the program running from 9:00 AM to approximately 1:00 PM. This announcement consolidates multiple related Notices under different reference IDs, all referring to this single industry engagement event.

Currently, MSPV requirements are executed at the local level via a variety of government purchase cards, contracts and a distribution prime vendor utilizing manual processes with limited IT tools. The MSPV 2.0 Industry Day will offer numerous networking opportunities to include discussions with VA program and subject matter experts regarding initiating and conducting business with VA regarding this requirement.
