The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada State Office plans to award a sole source purchase order to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) for specialized law enforcement support services. These services are intended to support the BLM Southern Nevada District Office by ensuring public health and safety on BLM-managed public lands in Clark County, Nevada. The contract addresses law enforcement activities beyond the scope of routine local enforcement due to the unique challenges posed by a high volume of visitors from outside the county, which significantly impacts the local police force's normal operations. The LVMPD, as a joint city-county agency, is uniquely equipped to enforce civil and criminal laws on public lands, waters, roads, trails, and property under BLM jurisdiction within Clark County. This notice, issued under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, serves to inform potential vendors of the government's intent to proceed with a sole source award and is not a solicitation for bids or quotes. Interested parties who believe they can fulfill the government's requirements were invited to submit input by a specified deadline, with the government's final decision on whether to compete the contract resting entirely on the responses received. The contract supports law enforcement efforts to protect persons and property on public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and reinforces the LVMPD's role in these specialized enforcement duties.
