Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuary (OACT) intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with the Inter-industry Economics Research Fund, Inc. (IERF). The purpose of this contract is to continue to gain access to a macroeconomic model (Long-Term Inter-Industry Forecasting Tool (LIFT) developed and maintained by the Interindustry Forecasting at the University of Maryland (INFORUM) group of the IERF and obtain assistance on other ad hoc projects. The LIFT model give OACT at CMS the ability to analyze current and projected trends in sector-specific economic data. It is necessary that OACT be able to understand the general and specific economic and demographic assumptions used in the Medicare Trustees Report, as well as understand the effect of changes in policy, law, or market dynamics on the health care sector and Medicare. This tool gives OACT the ability to conduct this type of analysis. OACT will also utilize the modeling and economic expertise of the INFORUM staff to assist in the development of health projections models, economy-wide projections models, and general economic research. Proposed period of performance is twenty four months form date of award. Telephone requests will not be honored. This announcement is for informational purposes only. RFP package is not available.
