General Services Administration's (GSA) National Capital Region is pleased to issue this Request for Information (RFI) for the redevelopment of the Old Post Office (OPO), a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The OPO is located on Pennsylvania Ave., NW, in the District of Columbia, in the heart of the Federal Triangle. GSA is considering redevelopment under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), through a long-term lease under Section 111 of the NHPA. GSA is issuing this RFI for market research purposes. The Government is seeking market information regarding the viability of redevelopment of the OPO and its annex, or either the OPO or the annex. From its review of the responses, the government will determine if there is the breadth and depth of interest from qualified respondents to proceed to a detailed Request for Qualifications (RFQ), followed by a Request for Proposals (RFP) from the best qualified respondents to the RFP. If the government determines through its review that redevelopment is not in the best interest of the government, then the OPO will be retained for federal use. A pre-submittal briefing and building tour has been scheduled for May 24, 2005. Additional details about the briefing and tour are provided in the RFI. GSA is issuing this RFI electronically, only. Interested parties can access the RFI at http://www.gsa.gov/ncr-oldpostoffice . This site provides instructions for downloading the RFI files. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. ALL INQUIRIES PERTAINING TO THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO MR. JIM KANE ON 202-358-3466 OR MR. ROBERT ROOP, CONTRACTING OFFICER, VIA FACSIMILE ON 202-401-0198 OR EMAIL: bob.roop@gsa.gov.
