R -- Sole Source Modification

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source modification to Chemonics International Inc. contract 492-C-00-98-00008-00. USAID/Philippines plans to fund the extension of the subject contract for a three-month period, from March 1, 2008 to May 31, 2008, under the authority of FAR 6.302 and as supplemented by AIDAR 706.302-70(b)(5), where an award is for the continued provision of highly specialized services and award to another source would result in substantial costs to the Government or would result in unacceptable project delays. It is essential to continue work efforts until a follow-on award is made. USAID/Philippines intends to award a Task Order under an Indefinite Quantity Contract for the follow-on. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any firm may submit capability information to demonstrate the ability to satisfy the Government?s requirement. Responses from firms received will be evaluated: however, USAID will not reimburse the respondent for any costs connected with providing such information.
