The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded a single source modification to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) under contract HSTS02-05-C-STZ004 to continue commercial system testing, evaluation, and independent analysis of the HAZMAT Truck Security Pilot (HTSP) Truck Tracking Center. This modification extends the existing Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract through April 30, 2008, with an additional cost of $225,975. The decision to award this single source extension was based on SAIC being uniquely qualified to meet the government's requirements in terms of both cost and schedule. Following the contract extension, the TSA's Office of Transportation Sector Network Management – Highway and Motor Carrier Division will open any subsequent Truck Tracking requirements for competitive bidding after January 31, 2008. This contract supports the TSA's ongoing efforts to enhance security and tracking of hazardous materials transportation, ensuring rigorous testing and validation of tracking systems under the HTSP initiative. Key points of contact include contract specialists from the Department of Homeland Security located in Springfield, VA.
