Railtown Turntable Culvert Outlet Repair

Project proposes to restore the historic drainage function at the turntable in Railtown State Historic Park so collected water can discharge from the pit, protecting adjacent contributing historic structures. Using a mini-excavator and/or hand tools work will: • Remove accumulated soils and debris within a 6-ft radius of the existing culver outlet and stockpile materials on-site for reuse; • Uncover the end of the existing 12-in. pipe culvert and if the pipe end is deteriorated beyond repair, repair in-kind; • Form and place a concrete shroud at the pipe outlet to keep the outlet clear of future sediment; and • Restore a smooth drain grade that will drain water away from adjacent structures.
