The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is seeking sources capable of designing and developing major caliber guns with auto-handling systems capable of improved rates of fire of both GPS and mission data initialized guided projectiles while maintaining a low radar cross-section. Targeted improvement of interest for mission data initialization is an order of magnitude over current rate of fire capability provided by the MK 45 Gun Mount for conventional unguided Naval large caliber ordnance. Backwards compatibility with conventional unguided Naval large caliber ordnance inventory is not a requirement to avoid adversely constraining innovation. The response should include: 1. A system description that explains the technical solution including visual representation of the solution. The description should address relevant details for mechanical and electrical interfaces, key performance requirements to include maximum and sustained rates of fire, key projectile interface constraints, caliber, maximum operating pressure, ammunition magazine capacity, radar cross section, and ammunition stowage/resupply platform considerations. 2. Space, Weight, Power, and Cooling considerations, including details on how the solution could minimize weight and space requirements for the system while still providing cutting edge capability. 3. A notional programmatic schedule showing key events, developmental timelines, and notional procurement schedules required for achieving a notional initial operational capability of 50 guns. Required submittal format: - All submitted information should be at the unclassified level except for a sensitive information addendum to discuss radar cross section and signature detail - Report requested in Microsoft Word document, Times New Roman font 12, 1" margins, 20-page limit - Summary requested in Microsoft Power Point or Adobe PDF with no more than 10 slides. - Any sensitive information addendum should be double packaged and mailed to the Government with the following addresses on the inner and outer packaging: OUTER ENVELOPE COMMANDER NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICER for INTEGRATED WARFARE SYSTEMS SURFACE SHIP WEAPONS ATTN: DOCUMENT CONTROL 2450 CRYSTAL DRIVE, SUITE 1300 ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA 22202-3843 INNER ENVELOPE COMMANDER NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICER for INTEGRATED WARFARE SYSTEMS SURFACE SHIP WEAPONS ATTN: JODIE MUELLER 2450 CRYSTAL DRIVE, SUITE 1300 ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA 22202-3843 - Sensitive information addendum requested in Microsoft Word document, Times New Roman font 12, 1" margins, 1-page limit - Label any information that is considered proprietary.
