The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) has issued a notice of intent to award a contract related to a solicitation for a door magnet, identified as solicitation number IN-14159. This notice clarifies that it is not a competitive bid request but an announcement of the agency’s intention to negotiate a contract, particularly under Florida statutes that allow negotiations if fewer than two responsive proposals are received. The contract is estimated to be valued between $50,000 and $150,000. The response deadline for proposals was October 23, 2025, and the solicitation was posted on October 20, 2025. Interested parties can contact Elizabeth Nimitz via email or phone for further information, with the solicitation details accessible through the Florida Vendor Marketplace. The process emphasizes adherence to specific protest procedures governed by Florida law, requiring any protests to be submitted in writing within 72 hours of the notice of intent to award and a formal protest within ten days. Protests must fully specify the facts and may involve posting a bond as stipulated by law. The agency notes that questions submitted during the solicitation process do not constitute formal protests. The contract aims to facilitate negotiations for the specified door magnet project, with the agency reserving the right to negotiate terms if the response pool is limited, ensuring transparency and compliance with applicable procurement statutes.
