Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source purchase to Applera Corporation, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA for the purchase of reagents and accessories. Applera is the original manufacturer and is the only source that can meet the government's requirement because they hold the proprietary rights to the reagents. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis i s not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice m ust show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this pr oposed contract price based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
