Its primary objective is to rapidly procure innovative commercial products, services, and non-developmental items to enhance the development, integration, and sustainment of ground vehicle systems. The program utilizes a multi-phased competitive process—consisting of solution briefs, presentations, and commercial solution proposals—to expedite the delivery of critical technologies. The scope of the CSO is broad and evolves through various Areas of Interest (AoIs) active through 2028. Key initiatives include the TIGER Readiness and Hackathon programs focused on supply chain resilience and advanced manufacturing for the Abrams Main Battle Tank's AGT 1500 engine, the FALCONS rapid prototyping effort for long-range sensors with an anticipated funding ceiling of 24 million dollars, and the procurement of Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) detection and Mobile Camouflage Systems. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) with a Unique Entity ID and a verified CAGE code.
