This contract involves the modernization and improvement of recreational facilities and infrastructure at Lake O the Pines and Jim Chapman Lake/Cooper Dam in Texas, funded through Recovery Act resources. Only HUBZone Multiple Award Task Order Contract Pool Contractors Cerrudo Services, CKY, Inc., and Hallmark Capital Group, LLC are eligible for this opportunity. The primary goals at Lake O the Pines include upgrading four designated RV areas by replacing outdated electrical pedestals with new 50-amp service, removing old asphalt camper pads and replacing them with concrete pads designed for modern recreational vehicles, and reinstalling all necessary amenities such as fire rings, picnic tables, and plumbing fixtures. Additionally, all roads in these areas will be resurfaced with hot-mix asphalt, and all removed asphalt will be recycled. The work will also involve clearing trees within ten feet of all improved areas. Another significant aspect of the contract is expanding the seepage collector system at the base of Ferrells Bridge Dam by demolishing and replacing about 200 linear feet of existing concrete liner with a new 6-inch concrete liner. At Jim Chapman Lake/Cooper Dam, approximately 1,170 feet of raw earth ditch will be graded and compacted, followed by the installation of a new 6-inch concrete liner. The Contract Specialist overseeing this project is Allen R. Bassett, reachable via phone or email at the US Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth, Texas. The work is intended to enhance park safety, accommodate current RV standards, and maintain structural integrity of water control systems at these sites.
