This is a nonpersonal services requirement in support of the DHA’s mission to staff and manage Referral Management Centers (RMCs) serving 42 Air Force installations throughout CONUS, Alaska, and Hawaii. Each RMC serves as the central clearinghouse for providers and patients seeking information or assistance regarding referrals and is responsible for the disposition of all referrals.

RMC personnel advise patients regarding their healthcare benefits and coordinate with referring providers and the Managed Care Support Contractor (MCSC) to validate referral accuracy and ensure the appropriate disposition of care. Referral Management is a critical component of the Department of Defense (DoD) and DHA healthcare delivery missions. It supports the patient-centered medical home model, optimizes the use of MTFs clinical specialty capabilities, and helps maintain expeditionary medicine readiness and currency.
