AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 422nd SCMS Requirements Office at Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify capable sources for the new manufacture of the Relay Assembly with NSN 5945-01-607-7229HY and P/N L5503047-001, intended for the B-1 platform. This effort is not a solicitation and no contract will be awarded based on responses; rather, the government seeks information to determine the optimal acquisition strategy, including whether the requirement can be competitively sourced or set aside for small businesses. Potential suppliers must demonstrate the ability to manufacture the item from raw components, perform inspection and testing, handle preservation and packaging, manage logistics and supply chain risks such as diminishing manufacturing sources, and address any nonrecurring engineering costs needed for qualification. The estimated requirement is for nine units. All interested parties, including small businesses, 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone businesses, and women-owned small businesses, are encouraged to respond by selecting the “Add Me to Interested Vendors” option. Responses must be submitted via email to 422scms.workflow@us.af.mil by the deadline of September 3, 2026, Central Standard Time. The North American Industry Classification System code is 336413, with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and the federal stock class is 5945. No funds are currently available for this market research phase, and the government will use the gathered data solely to inform future procurement decisions, potentially fragmenting the requirement by airframe. The place of performance is Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
