The contract involves comprehensive repair and upgrade work at SUNY Old Westbury's Campus Center, focusing on the parking lot stairs and ADA ramps. The scope includes removing and disposing of broken aluminum stair treads, leveling sunken and damaged concrete surfaces with epoxy concrete levelers, and installing new 11-inch epoxy-coated aluminum nose treads that are ADA compliant. These new treads will be securely fastened with concrete fasteners and epoxy adhesive, followed by floating a two-part epoxy concrete mixture to ensure a smooth, even surface across all treads and landings. Approximately 710 linear feet of nose treads are required to cover 84 steps, with the epoxy coating available in caution yellow or as approved by the campus. A sample tread will be provided for visual demonstration prior to full installation. Additionally, the project includes removing existing concrete in areas where ADA ramp pads were previously removed, then adhering new ADA ramp pads and filling substrates to create level, accessible pathways. The contractor will verify the exact quantity of ramps needing repair. The contract is set for a 120-day completion period, with a response deadline of June 12, 2024. It is open to all NYS counties, with specific subcontracting goals for minority and women-owned businesses, but no set-aside for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. The project is valued between $50,000 and $100,000, and interested entities can contact Suzette Foster, Assistant Vice President of Business Operations, for further details.
