Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County
Solicitation # 2026-RFQ-040
Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs. Applicants must provide a statement of qualifications, three public agency references from the last five years, and resumes of key personnel. The contract is administered by Matt Patana, Capital Infrastructure Specialist, based in Chehalis, Washington.

This sources sought is posted by the Government agency seeking responsible sources for a project. This notice is not a solicitation for work or a request for proposal. The purpose is to identify interested and capable vendors to perform the work described below and to incorporate the results into the Government's Market Research Report. The 354th Contracting Squadron is seeking qualification packages and past performance information from vendors interested in providing professional architect and engineering services at Eielson AFB, AK to replace the existing pole-mounted transformers at B1306 with a pad mounted transformer, replace existing interior and exterior lighting fixtures, heated bollard outlet (HBO panelboard). Jack's House (B1306) at Eielson AFB, AK was constructed in 1965 and its pole-mounted transformer is becoming increasingly hard to maintain. The facility currently has a 150 kVA pole-mounted transformer which must be replaced with a pad-mounted transformer for easier maintenance and to be in compliance with UFC 3-550-01. Additionally, the building requires new interior and exterior lighting and new heated bollard outlets (HBO) and associated panelboards. The project acknowledges the extreme Arctic conditions. Review the "Jacks House SOW 1 Aug 25" for additional details and specifics on the project.
