The Iowa Department of Transportation is inviting bids for replacing the well booster pump at the Newhall Maintenance Garage in Watkins, Iowa. The project involves removing the existing malfunctioning motor and pump, installing a new unit in the same location, and ensuring proper startup and operation verification. The contractor must provide a manufacturer’s warranty for parts and a one-year labor warranty. The current motor failure causes electrical issues and low water pressure, impacting staff operations. The project is scheduled to start upon contract award, with an estimated completion date of May 1, 2024, though contractors are encouraged to propose a revised timeline considering weather conditions. The selection process will prioritize responsible bidders offering the most advantageous proposal based on cost, compliance with requirements, staffing, and schedule adherence. Site visits are recommended but not mandatory, and interested parties should coordinate with the designated contact before the question deadline of March 31, 2023. The project does not require Davis-Bacon wages, and all questions must be submitted in writing before the specified cutoff. Responses are to be submitted online to streamline the process and minimize errors.
