In Accordance with FAR 6.302-1, and under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(l), the General Services Administration, Public Building Service, Fort Worth Service Center, intends to solicit the six known local installers of Notifier Fire Alarm Systems in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a competitive procurement, on an Other Than Full and Open basis. The Governments requirement is for the replacement of the Earl Cabell Federal Buildings Fire Alarm System at 1100 Commerce Street, Dallas, Texas with a Class B Notifier Fire Alarm System to be installed by a certified Notifier installer. This a firm requirement based on the fact that the connected federal building has recently been equipped with a Notifier brand firm alarm system. In order to be able to connect, interface, and communicate between the alarm panels and systems, components need to be from the same manufacturer to assure inter-operability and compatibility. Notifier manufactured equipment, like virtually all fire alarm systems on the market, are proprietary in nature, to include both hardware and software components. They require the use of manufacturer certified installers. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to provide for other than full and open competition is within the sole discretion of the Government. POINT OF CONTACT: Steven F.
