The Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA) is a joint powers agency formed to construct, own, and operate certain facilities needed to treat, convey, and deliver State Water Project (SWP) water to its project participants - retail water providers and end users located within the County. The Energy Dissipating Vault includes two multi-jet sleeve valves which are used to control the rate of water flow in the Coastal Branch pipeline. A hydraulic system consisting of two hydraulic power units with connecting carbon steel piping and hose assemblies is used to actuate the valves. The existing carbon steel piping is corroding and needs to be replaced. CCWA utilized HOR Engineering, Inc. to design the Project which includes the demolishment of the existing carbon steel piping and hose assemblies and replacing it with new stainless steel hydraulic tube and compression fittings, and hose assemblies.
