The Department of Defense, through DLA Troop Support, is issuing a Request for Information to solicit white papers on innovations in clothing and textiles ahead of the C&T Innovation Day scheduled for August 20, 2026, at the Baroni Center for Government Contracting in Arlington, Virginia. This initiative targets emerging domestic industrial base technologies in fabrics, materials, components, manufacturing processes, and end items, with the goal of identifying potential enhancements for future military requirements. Submissions must address one or more of the following: proposing new capabilities, integrating new technology into existing gear, leveraging commercial solutions to resolve supply chain bottlenecks, reducing costs, identifying cross-service commonalities for scalability, or mitigating current supply-chain risks. Specific areas of interest include modernization of Coast Guard cold weather outerwear, PFAS compliance in protective ensembles, advanced fasteners for tactical and diving applications, next-generation camouflage, flame-resistant neoprene, Berry-compliant zippers, digital twins tailored for women’s fit, and streamlined engineering processes. White papers are limited to two single-spaced pages at 12-point font and must be submitted via email to C_TInnovation@dla.mil by July 20, 2026; firms may submit multiple papers on different innovations. This is not a solicitation for proposals, does not obligate the government to award contracts, and does not guarantee future business. Proprietary information must be clearly marked to receive protection, and no reimbursement will be provided for submission costs. The NAICS code for this effort is 313310, and all inquiries should be directed to the designated email point of contact.
