The U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command/Natick Soldier Center (NSC) is seeking information through a Request for Information (RFI) regarding innovative closure systems that incorporate chemical protective materials. This effort aims to identify both commercially available and developmental products that could enhance the interfaces and closure systems for existing military chemical and biological protective uniforms, specifically targeting the mask, glove, and boot areas. The NSC welcomes submissions from firms of all sizes, encouraging the provision of full concept ideas or prototypes, detailed product literature, relevant test data, cost information, and samples of at least 15 yards of material for evaluation purposes. It is important to note that this RFI does not serve as a solicitation or commitment to procure these products, and the government will not provide compensation for the information received. Additionally, participation does not equate to any form of product approval by the Department of the Army. Interested parties are instructed to submit their responses via mail or email to Leah Zuckerman at the Natick Soldier Center. The overall goal is to support the development and potential future enhancement of protective uniform components by gathering a broad array of novel ideas and materials from industry sources.
