The Department of National Defence, through the Government of Canada, has issued a Request for Information to gather industry input regarding potential contractor support for the maintenance and operation of Aircraft Arresting Systems at three Forward Operating Locations in northern Canada: Inuvik, Yellowknife, and Iqaluit. These systems are critical to the safety of Canadian Armed Forces and NORAD aircraft during emergency landings and operational contingencies, and the services under consideration would include system operation, configuration, inspection, testing, preventive and corrective maintenance, incident response, recovery, training, and reporting—all in alignment with operational, technical, and airworthiness directives. This RFI is purely for informational purposes and does not constitute a commitment from Canada, nor does it initiate a procurement process or create any obligation for either the government or potential respondents. No formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing structures, delivery schedules, or acceptance criteria are included, as this document is not a solicitation for bids or proposals. Responses may inform a future Request for Proposal but will not influence eligibility for participation in any upcoming procurement. The deadline for responses is September 9, 2026, and all submissions should be directed to the designated point of contact, Lenore Morrissette. Suppliers are explicitly advised not to incur any costs or allocate resources based on this RFI, as no award will result from this activity.
