Request For Information THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This is an RFI released pursuant to FAR 15.201(e). This RFI is issued solely for information, planning purposes and market research only; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP or Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Responders are advised that the Government will not pay any cost incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. If a solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http://www.fedbizopps.gov). It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this website for any information that may pertain to this RFI. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. All submissions become the property of the Government and will not be returned. DLA Troop Support, Directorate of Clothing & Textiles (C&T) issued SPM1C1-12-R-0031 for the acquisition of Commercial Product lines of Shelters and associated Components. The intent of the solicitation is to award multiple Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contracts for tent and textile commercial soft shelter systems and associated support components that provide environmental protection to Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and for Civilian Disaster Relief Purposes. Offers may include complete commercial soft shelter systems and their respective support components for General Purpose Tentage, Utility Shelters, Maintenance Shelters, Command Post Shelters, Vehicle Crew Tents, Lightweight Nylon Tents Assembly Tents, Medical Tents or Arctic Region Tents, Hybrid Soft/Hard wall Shelters. Support equipment may include stakes or pins, tent lines, textile or modular flooring, environmental support components, storage covers, storage/shipping containers and trailer mounted shelter support systems. The solicitation is being evaluated and the expectation is that multiple awards will be made. The intent of this RFI is to solicit innovative ideas from industry identifying value added roles/services that can be provided to the government and utilized to supplement the C & T Commercial Shelters Program that will serve to enhance support to the customer. These ideas can range from marketing product lines to improved integrated logistic support. Responses to this RFI must contain enough information and details to clearly describe any recommended idea and how that idea will enhance or benefit logistics support to customers for commercial shelters and associated components. The responses must also identify whether you are a large or small business and all estimated costs to the government associated with the idea. All responses received to this RFI will be reviewed for merit/value and used by the Government in any manner that the Government chooses without obligation to the entity submitting the idea.
