The contract is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston, specifically from the Advanced Law Enforcement Technology Branch, seeking detailed information on battering rams used by specialized tactical teams such as SWAT. The request is aimed at gathering data for the Department of Homeland Security's System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which provides emergency responders with comparative assessments of important equipment. Vendors are asked to provide company details, product descriptions, reliability and safety data, as well as cost information, but are explicitly instructed not to send actual equipment or proprietary information. The information collected will aid in future equipment assessments, with vendor submissions potentially being published as public information.
