AI Contract Overview
The Department of Defense's DLA Troop Support is seeking feedback through a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market insights on fresh bread and bakery products intended for military customers in the State of Washington. This RFI is part of the preparation for a forthcoming solicitation that aims to establish indefinite quantity contracts with commercial suppliers to provide fresh bakery items. The contract emphasizes strict quality and freshness standards, including the use of USDA-approved mold inhibitors and temperature controls to maintain product quality. Respondents are not compensated for the information provided, and there is no guarantee of future business, as the RFI serves solely for market research purposes. The planned solicitation will require offerors to propose on all items within their chosen product groups, with the contract anticipated to begin in September 2026. Proposals must meet all specified quality requirements to be considered technically acceptable. The DLA Troop Support expects to award a single contract for the supply of these bakery products to Department of War troop customers in Washington. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their responses to the RFI questionnaire by May 28, 2026, via email to the designated contract specialist and contracting officer. This effort aligns with NAICS code 311812 and is managed through the Philadelphia office.
