The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division is conducting market research for the USSOCOM AC-130J PSP program. The requirement involves upgrading 33 MX-20D Turrets from part number 45003-09 to the 45003-20 configuration and procuring 34 DMCUs with part number 45905-101. The government currently intends to award this effort on a sole source basis to the Canadian Commercial Corporation due to restrictions regarding intellectual property, technical data packages, and the potential for unacceptable delays and duplicative costs associated with developing alternative sources. This Request for Information seeks to identify other capable companies that can mitigate the need for a sole source procurement. Interested parties are encouraged to submit company literature, white papers, budgetary cost estimates, and lead times to demonstrate their ability to meet the government's requirements. While the government is seeking this information to inform its decision-making process, no funding is currently available, and this notice does not constitute a formal solicitation or a commitment to award a contract.
