The contract seeks to identify manufacturers capable of producing the C-5 Crew Ladder Actuator, a linear cylinder assembly with a piston used on the C-5 aircraft crew entry door ladder. The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation Procurement Operations at Warner Robins plans to award a sole source contract to the original equipment manufacturer, Sargent Aerospace & Defense, LLC, as they are the only known source with the necessary technical data, design configuration, and capability to meet the performance requirements. The government does not own any technical data or drawings for this item, which creates an impediment to competition under FAR 6.302-1, allowing procurement through other than full and open competition. Potential manufacturers interested in competing or demonstrating capability must submit their interest by December 30, 2025, although this announcement serves only as a market research and informational notice, not a solicitation or request for proposals. The contract is associated with NAICS code 336413 and pertains to procurement at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. The government reserves the right to proceed with awarding to Sargent Aerospace without obligation to any respondents, and no government funds are available for the preparation of responses. Contact points are provided for further communication regarding this opportunity.
