REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CITY PROSECUTOR

The City of Winder, Georgia, is soliciting proposals for a City Prosecutor to handle the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal cases within the jurisdiction of the Winder Municipal Court. The selected Solicitor will be responsible for adhering to the City Charter, local ordinances, and Georgia State Statutes, with a primary requirement to attend court every Friday at 8 am. Additionally, the role may involve administrative and research functions in civil areas as directed. The contract features an initial one-year term with the option to renew for four additional one-year terms. Compensation is set at 450 dollars per court day, and the Solicitor must provide a fee schedule for any additional time required outside of typical court days. Qualified candidates must hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in Georgia, maintain membership in the Georgia State Bar Association, and possess at least three years of experience as a practicing attorney. Required submissions include a cover letter, Georgia State Bar numbers, three professional references, a release for GSBA disciplinary records, and proof of professional liability insurance. Compliance with Georgia security and immigration laws via E-Verify affidavits is mandatory. Proposals must be submitted in person or by mail to Finance Director Ronnie Campbell by October 26, 2026. Award decisions will be based on demonstrated competence, experience with comparable engagements, and the availability of key personnel, with finalists invited for interviews.
