The City of New Haven (the “City”) has issued this Request for Qualifications (the “RFQ”) to identify and partner with one or more qualified development partners for the redevelopment of approximately 9.6 acres of land along the Quinnipiac River and River Street in the Fair Haven neighborhood.  The City is seeking partners to deliver on a vision for River Street and generally the land in the River Street and Mill River districts with a mix of land uses at the scale and density of a growing city.  Building on current initiatives to revitalize these districts, our partners will be expected to integrate with other land uses within the area to create jobs, provide mixed-income housing and amenities, support community wellbeing and encourage environmental sustainability. Recognizing the many challenges with real estate development, particularly in coastal environments, the City has chosen to select one or more partners through the qualifications process.  This approach will enable the City to ascertain developer capacity, project understanding and ability to deliver on the multi-faceted nature of the vision.
