Request for Qualifications for Architectural and Structural Engineering Services along with Engineering Design and Permitting Services for Building Improvements and Rehabilitation Projects to The Harlem Academy in Hendry County, FL

SECTION III SCOPE OF WORK Hendry County is issuing this RFQ in order to solicit proposals from qualified firms or individual’s interested in providing Architectural and Structural Engineering Services along with Engineering Design and Permitting Services for building improvements and rehabilitation projects to the Harlem Academy on an as-needed basis for a period of five (5) years. The County will select one firm or individual to perform these services. The Hendry County BOCC desires to improve and rehabilitate the Harlem Academy. General improvements desired include necessary rehabilitation and/or upgrades to the buildings and its infrastructure. The selected consultant will prepare architectural drawings consisting of existing building conditions, interior build-outs, and restoration of the facilities. Additional services may be needed if upon inspections deficiencies are found. The general objective is for one selected consultant to provide historical rehabilitation, architectural and structural engineering services along with engineering design and construction permitting services in order to develop a set of construction plans, and bid documents. The consultant will also be selected to provide construction engineering inspection services during construction and quality acceptance reviews of all work associated with the design and permitted plans and any associated improvements. Work will include: architectural services; historical rehabilitation, engineering design services, engineering evaluation, construction plan preparation, construction bid documents, construction engineering inspection services, related to the repair and renovation of the facility as a whole. A detailed and defined scope will be outlined in each STA to follow the pre-construction phase of the evaluation process. All information provided by the consultant will be reviewed by the County staff. The consultant will be expected to rectify any omissions and make such changes as deemed appropriate at no additional cost. This work will be awarded to the selected contractor via a Supplemental Task Authorization (STA) to the master contract. ALL CONSULTANTS shall hold all State, Federal and County/City licenses required to perform the above referenced scope of work. This Consultant shall ensure compliance with all laws, rules, codes, ordinances, and licensing requirements that are applicable to the conduct of its business, including those of Federal, State, and local agencies having jurisdiction and authority. The County expressly desires the Consultant to keep all the files and records that pertain to the solicitation to relieve the County of the task of filing and record keeping.
