This contract involves the demolition of a residential structure and an accessory structure on a property located within the Bloomsbury Historic District of Raleigh, North Carolina. The scope includes removing the buildings, including below-grade walls and foundations, and backfilling and compacting all below-grade spaces to match the existing ground surface. The contractor will also clear trees, bushes, and debris from the site, while ensuring the protection of existing fences, a stone wall, and underground utilities such as stormwater pipes and junction boxes. Underground nonstormwater utilities must be located, removed, and capped up to the right-of-way, with the driveway designated for loading and unloading activities. The project emphasizes no traffic disruptions on Glenwood Avenue and requires the contractor to secure all necessary permits. Special considerations include protecting a tree on the property line, cautious excavation due to potential underground storage tanks, and careful handling to prevent damage to neighboring properties. All demolition materials must be properly disposed of offsite. The project is valued between $50,000 and $150,000, with a response deadline of August 7, 2024, and is overseen by the City of Raleigh, with primary contact being P.E. Erik Mayr.
