TITLE
Restoration of the runway 05-23, the taxiway Alpha and the Movements areas of Blanc Sablon Airport
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
.1 The work of this contract is located at the Blanc-Sablon Airport (CYBX) north of the village of Blanc-Sablon in the administrative region of Côte-Nord in Quebec. .2 The work consists of the rehabilitation of the airport's movement area including runway 05-23, the taxiway, the deck and the long-term parking on the city side including various related works.
WORK DESCRIPTION
The work includes, but is not limited to:
In 2022 : .1 the supply, transport and heaping in Blanc-Sablon, of the aggregates necessary for the preparation of bituminous asphalt and granular levelling materials.
In 2023: .1 On the deck and on the taxiway; crack repairs, removal of existing paving, addition and granular corrections where prescribed, installation of new bituminous concrete coating including marking and temporary and permanent marking. .2 On long-term parking; the earthworks and foundation work necessary for the expansion of the parking lot, the granular reloading of the existing parking lot, the installation of lighting and the asphalt concrete covering including pavement marking. .3 Repairs to the security fence on the perimeter of the airport. The fences to be repaired are of the type with metal wires with square mesh, chain mesh and wood. The Departmental Representative will indicate on site the nature and exact scope of the repairs to be carried out.
In 2024: .1 On the runway; the temporary widening of the runway and according to the phasing indicated on the plans; the removal of existing bituminous concrete coatings, the addition of granular foundation materials, the laying of a new bituminous concrete coating including marking and temporary and permanent marking.
SITE VISIT / BIDDERS CONFERENCE
There will be no site visit. It’s the bidders’ responsibility to obtain all the information relating to the conditions that may affect the performance of the work.
