Full Description

Transport Canada has a need to formally review the methodology used to establish the shape and location of the Restricted Area, as well as develop an updated procedure for triggering and repealing the Restricted Area within the year. The objective of this project is to review Transport Canada’s current Restricted Area parameters in the context of North Atlantic right whale (NARW) population distribution data, obtained through research conducted by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). This project will help improve the management of the Restricted Area, aiding in the yearly implementation of this management measure for NARW protection.
