The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, an office of the Department of Defense located in China Lake, California, awarded a sole source contract to Freewave Technologies, Inc. for the procurement of 200 RF transceivers, specifically part number MM2-9X5W-CC. This award was conducted under solicitation N6893618Q0075 and NAICS code 334220. The contract was issued as a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 because Freewave Technologies is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the hardware and does not utilize third-party distributors. The procurement process emphasized the necessity of maintaining an active registration in the General Services Administration System for Award Management. This includes the requirement for new or updated registrations to submit a signed, notarized letter identifying the authorized Entity Administrator associated with the entity's Data Universal Numbering System number. Failure to maintain an active status in the system prevents the government from awarding contracts to an entity. Coordination for this award was managed by Contract Specialist Brianna Little and Procuring Contracting Officer Debra A. Zamarron.
