RFP 26-08 Lake Management Services

The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority is seeking proposals from qualified lake management service providers to assist in managing algae growth across its five surface water reservoirs located in Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville, Virginia. The contract involves reviewing and analyzing water quality data in order to recommend appropriate applications and treatments to control harmful algae blooms (HABs) as they arise. Providers with expertise in ecosystem health, the use and impacts of aquatic pesticides, and relevant regulatory permitting through the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality are preferred. Interested parties must submit their proposals by June 16, 2026, in response to solicitation RFP-120650 titled "RFP 26-08 Lake Management Services." The Authority intends to select a firm or firms capable of providing ongoing support that maintains the balance between effective algae control and the protection of drinking water supplies and local ecosystems.
