Grand Rapids Public Schools is seeking comprehensive architectural and engineering design and production services for renovations and additions at Harrison Park Academy and Campus Elementary as part of the 2023 Bond Program, Reimagine GRPS with Us. The scope of work includes cafeteria improvements, interior finishes, HVAC and lighting upgrades at Harrison Park, as well as roof and window replacement and interior reconfigurations at Campus Elementary. The project will be managed under a modified AIA Document B133 agreement, with a performance timeline extending through October 2029. Key deliverables include detailed design documentation, bi-weekly progress updates for the Construction Manager as Constructor, and final project closeout involving technology installation and staff training. The selection process is a Qualification Based Selection conducted in three phases: Technical Qualifications (55 percent), Team Interviews (35 percent), and a Fee Proposal (10 percent). The highest scoring firm will be recommended for award by the Board of Education. Applicants must submit their technical qualifications and fee proposals in separate sealed envelopes by October 22, 2026. Required submissions include various certifications, such as a Non-Collusive Affidavit and Debarment and Suspension Certification, as well as evidence of compliance with Michigan prevailing wage laws and non-discrimination statutes. The selected architect will also be responsible for ensuring the Construction Manager maintains performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract sum.
