RFQ 27-02 Audio Visual Contractor Services

The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is seeking to establish a list of prequalified contractors for professional audiovisual (AV) systems integration, installation, programming, commissioning, and support services. This qualifications-based solicitation, RFQ 27-02, aims to identify experienced firms capable of handling enterprise AV projects at the NJIT residential campus in Newark, New Jersey. The scope of work includes unified communications such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco systems, as well as AV-over-IP, networked audio, professional projection, and direct-view LED systems. Prequalified contractors will be eligible to receive invitations to bid on specific projects over a three-year prequalification period, which may be extended by up to two additional one-year terms. To qualify, contractors must demonstrate at least three years of relevant AV systems integration experience, preferably within higher education, government, or similar complex enterprise environments. Mandatory requirements include maintaining authorized dealer or partner relationships with major manufacturers, specifically Crestron and Extron, and employing staff with current AVIXA certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I. Submissions must be made via Workday by 2:00 PM on October 28, 2026, and must include a comprehensive qualification response, a New Jersey Business Registration Certificate, a Certificate of Insurance naming NJIT as an additional insured, and various mandatory disclosures regarding ownership and international investment activities. Awardees must also comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and various federal and state non-discrimination and labor laws.
