RFQ - 3742 Oakes College Housing Capital Improvements

The University of California, Santa Cruz, through its Department of Physical Planning, Development and Operations, is soliciting qualifications from design professional firms for the Oakes College Housing Capital Improvements project. This initiative involves comprehensive programming and planning for new construction, redevelopment, and renovation with a construction budget estimated between 275 million and 300 million dollars. The scope of work includes increasing apartment housing to approximately 500 beds, expanding residential hall capacity to 700 beds, renovating the Oakes Learning Center to include a cafe and multipurpose classrooms, and improving outdoor gathering spaces and utility infrastructure. The overall project targets completion by Fall 2032. The selection process is based on the qualifications presented in a Statement of Qualifications and documentation of related experience submitted via standard University forms. Selected firms will initially operate under a Professional Services Agreement with a three-year term, potentially extendable for two additional one-year periods, and may become eligible for a subsequent Executive Design Professional Agreement for the design phase.
