Amendment No. 001 for solicitation BEP-RFQ-12-0256 extends the response deadline to June 22, 2012, and introduces critical operational terms for the replacement of batteries in a Chloride Power Electronics 75kVA UPS system. The contractor is responsible for putting the system into bypass, installing new batteries, and disposing of old ones. Work must be coordinated with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to avoid interfering with manufacturing operations, and the contractor must adhere to strict security protocols, including wearing visitor badges and following all applicable federal, state, and local safety codes. The amendment clarifies that the government will not provide parking, though a nearby garage is available. Contractor personnel must ensure that their activities do not restrict traffic or create unsafe conditions, as non-compliance with security and operational regulations may be grounds for termination. Additionally, the contractor may be required to submit a safety plan and provide professional licenses or certifications within five business days upon request.
