RFT Canyon Avenue (DR 15.1) Bank Stabilization Project

The Canyon Avenue Bank Stabilization Project, managed by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, involves critical bank and channel restoration works at 35 Canyon Avenue, Toronto. The primary scope of work includes the construction of an armourstone retaining wall to replace failed gabion baskets, channel widening and realignment, and the placement of bedding material. Additional deliverables encompass erosion and sediment control measures, asphalt paving of damaged roads and trails, and extensive landscape restoration involving topsoil, coir mats, and the planting of hundreds of trees and shrubs. The project is supported by technical assessments, including a detailed design brief, an arborist report covering 797 surveyed trees, a soil characterization report for approximately 2600 cubic meters of excess soil, and a Stage 2 archaeological assessment which found no cultural resources in the area. This solicitation is a stipulated price contract based on the CCDC 2 2020 form and is exclusively open to bidders prequalified under Category A1 of RFPQ No. 10043326. The contract will be awarded to the lowest compliant bidder, with a response deadline of October 20, 2026. Key contractual requirements include the submission of a CCDC 220 Bid Bond, a Statement of Insurability, and a Consent of Surety form, with the successful contractor required to provide performance and labour and material payment bonds each equal to 50 percent of the contract price.
