The Luso Canadian Charitable Society is undertaking a significant supportive-housing development at 922 Main Street East, Hamilton, Ontario, consisting of the adaptive reuse of the existing heritage church structure and the construction of a new 6-storey residential building. The completed facility is intended to provide 30 residential units and accommodate up to 45 individuals requiring long-term, professionally supported housing services. This development forms part of Luso’s broader initiative to expand accessible, inclusive, and community-based residential care for adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The project integrates heritage restoration, new construction, and modern accessibility standards within a single coordinated development located in a dense urban environment.ONIT Construction Inc. has been retained as the Construction Manager for this project. In this capacity, ONIT is responsible for administering the construction management process, including pre-construction planning, trade procurement, coordination of subcontracted work, construction oversight, and the implementation of site safety and quality-control measures.
