AI Contract Overview
The contract calls for the procurement of one reel of wire rope meeting detailed technical and quality specifications outlined by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The wire rope is specified as 1-inch diameter, right regular lay, improved plow steel, uncoated, with independent wire rope core (IWRC) and preformed construction, delivered in an 850-foot reel. All manufacturing and inspection procedures must adhere strictly to MIL-STD-1916 or ASQ H1331 sampling methods, with critical attributes inspected at the highest levels. The rope is classified as a critical application item per revision J of the RR-W-410 standard and must comply with DLA packaging, marking, and quality requirements, including ASTM D3951 and MIL-STD-129 for packaging and labeling. Delivery is FOB destination within 20 days of order, with inspection and acceptance occurring at the origin. The contract enforces zero tolerance on quantity variance and requires removal of government identification from any non-accepted supplies. Shipments are to be made by fastest traceable means, prohibiting parcel post. The destination is the USS John P Murtha (LPD 26) FPO AP 96694, with logistical instructions for vendor submission and marking. The solicitation is managed under NAICS code 332618 by the Department of Defense’s ASC Supplier Operations OEM Division, with a response deadline in mid-April 2026 and a primary point of contact provided for queries.
