Rotary Park Redevelopment - Phase 2 - General Contracting and Site Works

The Town of Orangeville is seeking a qualified general contractor for the Rotary Park Redevelopment Phase 2, located at 75 Second Avenue, Orangeville, Ontario. This project involves comprehensive general contracting and site works, including site preparation, grading, electrical lighting, paving, and the installation of a playground and pickleball courts. The scope of work encompasses the delivery of infrastructure materials such as hot mix asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and structural steel, as well as specialized site features like acrylic surfacing, rubberized playground materials, and shade structures. The project is governed by a CCDC 2 (2020) Stipulated Price Contract, with a required substantial performance date of July 15, 2027. Award of the contract is based on the lowest compliant bidder, provided they meet all technical requirements and submit a mandatory Domestic Supply Chain Commitment Plan ensuring at least 20% domestic content from Ontario and Canada. Key administrative requirements include the provision of performance and labour and material payment bonds, WSIBC clearance certificates, and adherence to CAN/CSA-Z614 and ADA accessibility guidelines for play areas. Payments are processed within 28 calendar days of receiving a proper invoice and statutory declaration, with a 2% warranty holdback applied. The project is managed by a Consultant who is responsible for reviewing shop drawings and approving material deviations.
