Route 130 & 210 Water Line

The Route 130 and 210 Water Line Improvements project is a stipulated price construction contract for the Amherst County Service Authority in Virginia. The scope of work is divided into two primary components: Contract A involves the installation of approximately 2,800 linear feet of 12-inch water line along Route 130, and Contract B consists of approximately 940 linear feet of 12-inch water line along Route 210. The project includes all necessary labor, materials, and installation of appurtenances, as well as traffic control, erosion control, and site restoration. Substantial completion is required within 180 days of the contract commencement, with final completion and payment readiness due within 210 days. The contract is governed by EJCDC C-700 and C-800 standard and supplementary conditions, with Hurt and Proffitt, Inc. serving as the project engineer. Bids will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid, with the owner reserving the right to split awards between different bidders for Contract A and Contract B. Because the project is funded by federal and state money, contractors must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act, the Build America, Buy America Act, and various Executive Orders regarding non-discrimination and minimum wages. Required submissions include a bid bond, performance and payment bonds, and evidence of employer's liability insurance of 500,000 dollars.
