The New York State Department of Transportation is seeking proposals from qualified third-party consultants to conduct a lean six sigma process review across several key areas, including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Certification Process, MWBE and DBE training, solicitation procedures, goal-setting practices, compliance monitoring, web page content, and Civil Rights Office staffing responsibilities. The goal is to identify and develop improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in these areas. Interested vendors are instructed to communicate exclusively with designated contacts, Jessica Owen and Otto Ambuhl, for inquiries and bid submissions, with a deadline of February 24, 2025. The Department emphasizes compliance with civil rights laws, ensuring nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for disadvantaged and minority-owned businesses. Bidders must be registered with the NYS Department of Labor to participate, and bids will remain valid for 60 days. The contract duration is set for one year, with the possibility of extension or renewal based on performance and Department needs. This procurement encourages certified firms to participate as prime contractors and emphasizes adherence to all applicable state and federal regulations.
