RTI International will scale up interventions that will improve early grade learning outcomes and promote inclusive education for people living with disabilities. The Government of Tanzania is also requesting USAID/Tanzania to move beyond early-grade.

The contract modification with RTI International aims to increase the total estimated cost by between $5 million and $15 million to support scaling up of existing interventions under the Tusome Pamoja program. These interventions focus on improving early grade learning outcomes and promoting inclusive education for children with disabilities in Tanzania. The expansion is necessitated by higher than anticipated costs associated with reading interventions and the Tanzanian government's request to extend the program’s scope beyond early-grade reading to include arithmetic and broader inclusivity measures. This modification reflects a strategic response to evolving educational priorities in Tanzania, leveraging RTI International’s expertise to enhance foundational learning and support inclusive education. The work will be performed in Dar es Salaam under USAID/Tanzania oversight, with key points of contact designated as Samuel S. Kiranga (Acquisition Specialist) and Ayana Angulo (Contracting Officer). The effort aligns with USAID’s goal to improve educational access and outcomes for vulnerable populations within the framework of the existing Statement of Work.
