Iwakuni Hazardous Waste RemovalThis contract seeks qualified small businesses, including 8(a), HUBZone, woman-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned firms, to provide comprehensive hazardous waste transportation and disposal services for military installations in Bavaria, Germany, and associated U.S. military activities in the area. The scope covers a wide range of waste types such as RCRA and non-RCRA wastes, batteries, compressed gas cylinders, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and PFAS-related waste, among others. Additional services include sampling and analysis, industrial cleaning, various rental equipment, and expedited removal to ensure full compliance with all local, state, Department of Defense, and federal regulations. The contract will be a firm-fixed price, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) vehicle with a 30-month base period and a 30-month option period. Key to this opportunity is the requirement that small business offerors comply with the FAR clause limiting subcontracting to no more than 50% of the contract value paid to non-similarly situated entities, posing a challenge given most Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs) are large businesses. Vendors must identify TSDFs they intend to use and demonstrate how they will meet this subcontracting limitation. Interested firms must submit a capabilities package addressing their small business status, relevant experience, compliance strategy for the subcontracting limitation, and list of proposed TSDFs by June 17, 2026. Responses will guide the Government in determining whether to proceed with a small business set-aside. No solicitation is available yet, and responses to this sources sought will not guarantee inclusion in future bids or solicitations.

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 21 plans to award a sole source contract for a controlled substance removal program at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System Pharmacy. This intent to sole source notice follows regulations allowing non-competitive awards under specific statutory authority and agency regulations, particularly targeting a certified service-disabled veteran-owned small business. The anticipated contract will be firm-fixed-price and may reach up to $5 million. Interested parties are invited to express their interest by submitting a completed Market Research Questionnaire by May 21, 2026, with no requests for quotations issued; the government retains discretion on whether to proceed with competition based on the responses received. The notice emphasizes that responses must be submitted electronically only and that respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management to qualify for contract award. If no viable responses are received by the deadline, negotiations will proceed solely with the designated business. The solicitation is tied to NAICS code 562211, indicating waste treatment and disposal services, suitable for handling controlled substances removal. All communications must be directed to the contracting officer, Rachael Becker, with strict adherence to submission guidelines to be considered valid. The attachments include the Market Research Questionnaire and the Performance Work Statement outlining the scope of services required.
