Contra Costa County (County) intends to sell an approximately 0.544-acre portion of APN 148-360-027 near 199 Mayhew Way and adjacent to the Iron Horse Corridor (Property) to the adjacent property owner (Grantee). The Property includes a paved access road and parking area. In 1989 the County acquired the Property for the purpose of extending the Iron Horse Trail for public recreation. In 2010 the County encumbered the Property by granting a perpetual access easement to the adjacent property owner for ingress and egress purposes only. The Property is no longer required for County purposes and is considered to be exempt surplus land in accordance with the Surplus Land Act. This Notice of Exemption covers the real estate transaction only. The Grantee will be responsible for complying with CEQA and obtaining any applicable local, state, and/or federal regulatory permits for their planned use or development of the property.
