The item is not regulated by the FDA, but technical and quality requirements are governed by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, with packaging mandated to comply with ASTM D3951 unless superseded by DLA standards, and palletization governed by RP001. Marking must conform to Medical Marking Standard No. 1, overriding MIL-STD-129, though MIL-STD-129 remains applicable for certain labeling requirements, particularly for hazardous materials which must also adhere to the Hazard Communication Standard.
